PROBLEM
Error Message - "C:\program files\lindseyjones\9033\rsXXX.mdb is not a valid path..."
This problem is related to a security issue with Windows Vista and Window 7 64 bit. It is easily resolved.
Browse the "C:\" drive.
Double click on the "Program Files X86"
Find the file folder "LindseyJones" - do not open the folder by clicking on it.
Highlight the folder by click on once
Copy the folder by hitting Cntr + C on the keyboard, or select Edit from the menu and choose COPY
Navigate back to the "C:\" drive
Double click on the file folder called "Program Files" (the one without "X86")
Single click on a white space in the folder and PASTE, by hitting Cntrl + V or by selecting Paste from the Edit menu.
You may be asked to provide administrative permission. In most cases you may simply continue.
Once the folder is copied, the clinical simulation titles and practice questions should work.
PROBLEM
UNABLE TO RUN ON MAC COMPUTER
LindseyJones software is not developed for MAC. This is stated clearly and multiply on the order page. However, there is software that can be installed on the MAC that will allow your MAC to run any PC software, including LindseyJones. While we do not offer support for these products, the one we recommend is:
VMWARE Fusion, which you can purchase at a student discount at Academic Superstore.
You will also need to purchase a copy of Windows.
PROBLEM
CANT START the SIMs or PRACTICE QUESTIONS ONCE INSTALLED and THE PROGRAM REINSTALLS EVERY TIME I INSERT THE CD
Confusion over this relates to the fact that the CD is only needed once to install. After installation is complete, you may eject the CD and put is in safe place.
Keep in mind that the if you install the Clin sims and the practice questions, it is a total of 37 programs. This is too many to place icons on your desk top. Consequently, to start the practice sims or question, you must click on the START button, PROGAM FILES, LINDSEYJONES Clinical Simulation. In these folders you fill find the programs. You may drag the icons to your desktop if you wish.
PROBLEM
CAN'T SEE EVERYTHING ON THE SCEEN (WITH PRACTICE QUESTIONS)
This problem occurs for 2 reasons. Either 1) your screen resolution is set too low, or 2) you are using a Netbook (very small screen computer).
Adjusting your Screen Resolution:
Right click on your desktop and select (screen resolution or personal settings). The screen resolution must be at least 1024 x 768 or higher. Once in the screen resolution screen, move the slider until these numbers are found.
This adjustment may cause your icons on your desktop to appear smaller. This is the normal outcome from increasing your screen resolution.
NOTE: IF YOU HAVE A NETBOOK (very small computer with a very small screen) you may not be able to get enough resolution to run the practice questions. Netbook computers are not full-fledge computers. They are meant only for browsing the net and running very basic programs. They will, however, run the clinical simulations because they do not require high resolution.
