28 Clinical simulations

Each of the 28 computer simulations come with a feedback feature. When the simulations are installed, the feedback is set to full. This means that as selections are made, the user receives an immediate response, indicating the correctness of the answer, what vital function of life it relates to, and advise as to what the therapist should be considering.

For the most effective use, we recommend that the simulation feedback be turned off entirely for the first few attempts. Doing this appears to significantly increase cognitive development. After the user has taken the simulation a few times and has reached a passing grade, we then recommend turning feedback on so that every answer can be selected and studied.

The collection of 28 clinical simulations is an array of certain situations and pathologies that bring a balanced exposure of that same kind of situations seen on the actual NBRC clinical simulation test. Therefore, the array of simulations is not merely a random collection. We have found that students and practitioners who practice every simulation in the collection, even if they must take each several times to pass, are better prepared for the clinical simulation exam than by any other method.

Like all of our study material, the content in the clinical simulations does not exactly replicate the exam. On the actual NBRC exam, the test-taker can expect to spend 30-40% of the time engaged in very complex critical thinking. The other 60-70% of the test involves rather non-complex, easy decisions. Conversely, the LindseyJones clinical simulations spend 80% or more of the scenarios dealing with very challenging situations and concepts. Consequently, users of our materials often comment how difficult our simulations are. However, those same users, when taking the actual NBRC exam, find clinical simulations to be relatively easy. We concentrate our simulations because we want to maximize your practice time and expose the student/practitioner to a broad number of possibilities in only 28 clinical simulations.

When it is all said and done, it is the quality of the practice clinical simulations that makes the difference. Ours are the most difficult and most engaging simulations available. But it pays off when the test-taker discovers how well he or she is prepared when taking the actual NBRC clinical simulation exam.

If you are not familiar with the test taking skills required for the clinical simulations, we strong recommend you consider the Complete Clinical Simulation Review Course, which includes the 28 Clinical Simulations on CD. With the four audio CDs and the special 8 seminar Clinical Simulations, your ability and confidence will increase significantly. If you feel you already know clinical simulation methodology, simply purchasing the 28 Clinical Simulations on CD may be perfectly adequate.

Clinical Simulation Audio Seminar

This multiple audio CD set comes with many hours of interactive lecture, carefully developing the listener’s skills for clinical simulations. The audio collection comes with a CD ROM with 8 clinical simulations. Effective study consists of listening to the audio CDs, occasionally being interrupted to practice an assigned simulation, then resuming to discuss the simulation in detail. The method focuses on technique, decreasing test-taking anxiety by teaching the student/practitioner how to easily and methodically reason themselves through the exam. Simply put, the mystery of the clinical simulations is exposed.

For a limited time, practitioners who purchase this audio course will receive a FREE copy of 28 Clinical Simulations on CD ROM (a $59 value)

CRT/RRT Written manual

This book currently consists of 215 + pages of concise material needed for the CRT and RRT exam. It is not an all-inclusive respiratory practice manual. So you will find only the information needed to know for the test – no more. We have found that the central challenge for CRT and RRT written test-takers is not about remembering the information. Most already know 80% of what they need to know. This manual is a way of clearing your mind of all that you DO NOT need to know for the exam. The CRT and RRT written have fairly high pass rates, indicating that most are genuinely prepared to take the exam, even though they may experience anxiety about their preparedness. The true obstacle is the clinical simulation portion of the RRT exam.

The overwhelming majority of the CRT and RRT exams deal with therapeutics – decision making in a clinical setting. The same rules that apply to clinical simulations apply to the CRT and RRT written therapeutics sections of the exam. So, test-takers having difficulty with the written CRT or RRT find great benefit in learning clinical simulation methodology. Statistical data shows that CRT and RRT eligible test-takers are 3 times more likely to pass the writtens when they are proficient with clinical simulations. Even if you are wanting only to take the CRT and advance no further, you may want to consider our clinical simulations course. It may make all the difference for you.

725 Practice Questions for the CRT/RRT Written exam

Now included with the Comprehensive CRT / RRT review manual, this exam-style software contains 3 Full-length CRT exam snd 3 Full-length RRT exams (Over 725 Questions). The environment that simulates the actual exam. What's more, you can customize your practice exam to focus on your RRT written or CRT exam OR focus on a specific area of study. The program will randomly sample questions from a database of over 725 questions and provide the user with a detailed analysis of their strengths and weaknesses. What really makes the program helpful is the ability to review all questions after taking the exam - an invaluable learning tool.

200 Flash Cards for CRT & RRT exams

200 specially chosen flash cards covering respiratory pharmacology, calculations, word and pathology associations and other areas. These flash cards are designed around the LindseyJones method of learning - only the vital information needed on the exam is included. While analytical skills are an important part of both the CRT and RRT written exam as well as the clinical simulations, Flash Cards help conquer key items that require memorization and recall. Cards are organized, color-coded, and scientifically made with different fonts and colors to enahnce mental retention and improve the abilitiy recall vital information.

Test taking hints:

As you review for your test, identify sections of your study materials (manuals, notes, etc) in which you are already proficient and never look at the information again. For instance, most therapists do not need to repeatedly study normal ABG values. If it is information you already know, there is no need to repeatedly examine it – it only clutters the mind. We recommend you skip over such content when studying for the NBRC exam.

When taking the CRT and RRT written exam, if you don't immediately know the answer, skip the question. The exam software is designed to automatically return you to all questions that you've marked or have not completed. Skipping difficult questions that show up early in the test is helpful because you are more likely to be able to think through the problem once your mind is "warmed up" and your anxiety level is decreased.
